I don't have a plushie myself, so please forgive any ignorance in advance.
From what I've read, having a plushie is helpful because it makes certain aspects of your Tulpa easier to imagine. If you have problems with visualization, a plushie would make that a lot easier. However, if your main problem is with voice, a plushie might not help so much.
As for Twilight being immobile, here's a solution which may or may not work (depending on the extent to which your Tulpa interacts with other parts of your imagination): use a plushie as Twilight's vessel, but visualise the plushie moving yourself. That way, you could retain the benefits of a plushie while also solving Twilight's mobility problem.
