I frequently quote warred and text wall'd, and I took on a good number of topics and people. Including... The staff itself. I probably got reported often and made their (unpaid) jobs harder.

Ah, I see.

I can quote war with the best (or worst) of them, but it was always something wrought with anxiety. I prefer a friendly conversation with someone who will keep their temper and take well-meaning shots back. Quote warring just taps too readily into my OCD (diagnosed, going on 17+ years since significant manifestation of symptoms). Babe has helped me immensely in that regard.

Pardon me for asking, but what is a quote war?

"And I have a deep regard for you as well, Mr. Peabody." I couldn't find the scene on Youtube from Peabody and Sherman. (You get to be the dog in this scenario because he's the smart one.)

You see someone's post that you dislike or disagree with (on a forum or the like) and respond after quoting part of their post. Then, they respond in kind, and the two of you (and possibly other participants) back-and-forth at length. In my experience, they are just shy of overtly disrespectful and go on far longer than they had ought to.

Ah, I see. That doesn't sound all too pleasant. I'm sorry you had to experience that elsewhere.

I feel genuinely proud that I've listed quotes that many can't figure out their origin.

I wasn't suggesting an actual flame war. nah, but the old way of good friends just picking at each other can actually be a sign and expression of a deep bond of friendship. it takes a lot of trust to sit next to your friend and call him a dork in a way you both die laughing about XD
