I agree that having words fall on deaf ears is pretty annoying, possibly even more-so when they hear you but they misread you.
I speak here because no projection of mine can, but I do take on the form of a pony when I visit Equestria in my dreams. I don't tulpamance, so they'll never leave my head. Thus, I'll answer your question: Yeah, it is very interesting to get to know people who unabashedly take alternative routes to success or happiness. Hopefully both. I've long known a lot of odd people, so I've come to appreciate their individual methods and mindsets long before coming to this place for the first time, myself, a place I would have never expected to be in when I was young. Ah, fortune can be so very whimsical... Let me know if you need anything. I'm here to help. Also, feel free to drop by my AMA.

Heh, I'm not certain I've given the show much thought in a long time. It served well as the basis for my most recent exploration, but is now no longer required. Now, all that's left is what I originally thought of it; it's a cute show with an interesting fandom. I think the show's funny and uplifting, and the fandom... I try to ignore the unpleasant bits if I can help it. There are a lot of great artists and musicians and writers who've found inspiration in the MLP universe, and that's not to be disregarded along with embarrassingly fanatical fans, regrettably copious amounts of autism, and its sexualization of what was originally supposed to be so innocent. Not that I consider sexualization a bad thing, considering the unexpectedly mature fanbase, at least in age, and not that autism is anything to be ashamed of, but the label does carry humiliating stereotypes, and it's true that this fandom contains a lot of autistic individuals. To clarify: It's not the presence of so many autistic individuals that I refer to as "unpleasant." They're mostly just... quirky. It's just the stereotypes that come along with it and are kind of painted over the fandom as a whole. Yet, not even that matters, since if one does make presumptions so broad without taking into account the purposes of blanket statements and their inherent inaccuracies as factual recollections of a group's general traits, they're not really worth listening to to begin with. Safely ignored.
I'm also not certain what you mean by "my progress" as it pertains to the fandom and love for MLP itself and its characters. Would you care to rephrase that? Let me know if you need anything. I'm here to help. Also, feel free to drop by my AMA.

Chatterbox: Well let me explain myself, i call progress as your new life as a Brony, we usually look behind to our past and see the big difference between what we are and what we used to be.
is kinda as we ponies say "Cutie Mark" not only showing our destiny and talent but also our new life, i feel bronies have a "first" Cutie Mark when you realize you are Bronies and find MLP, the second is the way bronies use to contribute to this fandom, people who feel useless at first find MLP and discover then their artistic skills and aspirations like a Cutie Mark itself, some make music, fictions, drawings, games, animations and all you can find on MLP. Uboa for example he started making drawings of Creepypastas and tulpas on paper and MLP show him to re discover his ability to draw and animate, and i say re discover because he got contact with AF CS6 and AP CS4 before.

Ah, what intriguing perspective, Chatterbox. You truly are unique.
The values demonstrated in MLP are something I've long known and loved, and seeing the show didn't change them. I just found that it was a neat show, but what really got me interested was the fandom, for precisely the reason you listed. Such positivity, such inspiration. I've made quite a few friends who consider themselves bronies and I appreciate their company. It's always uplifting to see people feel better about themselves and learn more about people and life and what have you. Even if that were gone, though, I'd still enjoy the show. As for the "big difference" between what I am, personally, and what I used to be, I'm not sure that's changed... with the exceptions of more perspective, occasionally less patience, and an odd penchant for poni poni. Alate: What a strange place...
