Writings and Stories

Most of you should recognize this thread too, for the first few days I'll sporadically repost some of my older writings from the previous forum, mostly stuff I think is my best or was well received and whatnot.

Walk Through The Park

Our steps were relatively quiet, although her hooves sounded much louder than they actually were on the concrete. It was night out, as it was really the only time we could go out, crickets chirping from some unseen area, a soft late summer breeze keeping us cool.

"I must confess your world's night is certainly beautiful," Nightmare Rarity spoke softy, her sapphire eyes glowing so luminously in the darkness. "Although," she continued with a playful haughtiness, "not as good as mine."

"Can't argue with you there," I replied, pulling her a bit closer to me, running my fingers across her soft black fur. "In Equestria I can actually see the stars."

We came to a simple wooden bench hidden away beneath the shadows the a towering tree, its branches swaying softly and invitingly as we sat down. Her forelegs on my lap, one of my hands holding a hoof. She drew her backlegs close to her body as I stroked her mane with loving care. A few tips of her long locks occasionally tickled my arm when the breeze hit us.

"Nightmare?"

"Hm?"

"Do you ever wish we could go out in public? In my world, I mean."

Nightmare Rarity looked at me with an unblinking stare as she considered my question.

"Not particularly, why do you ask?" A bit of concern laced her voice. She knew me well enough to know that there was often a deeper meaning to my seemingly big questions. It was something I loved the most about her.

"I pass by here a lot now...and I see people. People living their lives, couples spending time with each other. It was something I never thought much of, especially the couples."

Nightmare Rarity simply waited for me to continue.

"It wasn't something I truly understood. But now I do...and I can't share that with anyone."

Nightmare Rarity's right ear twitched once before answering. "Does that really matter though? We know of our love and our happiness together. Isn't that enough?"

"Yes, but at times I just wish I could...," I trailed off as I wasn't quite sure how to put my next thought into words.

"I wish I could show everyone the most beautiful thing in my life," I saw her smile slightly.

"Sometimes we can't show something like that," she leaned in and whispered, "but that doesn't make it any less true."

We simultaneously pulled each other into a close hug, her scent washing over me as I closed my eyes in a passionate bliss.

"I think we best be getting home now," she stated softy as she pulled away. She playfully flicked her tail under my chin, causing me to smile as I followed after her and began our walk home.

"I think we should come here more often," I said, pulling her close to me once more.

"There is something special about this place isn't there?" She replied.

I looked at her, "Yes, there is."

Another repost of one my personal favorites.

A Good Swim

I watched in both amusement and awe as Nightmare Moon broke horn first through the crystal clear waters of the gigantic pool. Her mane wet, the blue and sparkling locks trailing in the rippling waters as she swam over to me, resting her chin on her hooves.

"I can't believe you're swimming at this time of year," I smirked at her.

"It's never too late for a good swim," she replied matter-of-factly.

"It's winter!"

"And we're indoors. Your point?"

I sighed and relented, we were safely away from the cold, in a big stone room with a utterly massive pool in its center. The water casting an unusual blue glow on some of the lower walls.

"Are you coming in?" She asked in a honeyed voice, her teal eyes half lidded playfully.

"Ha, no. You know why I don't swim," I replied, water, especially deep water had a bad habit of making me uncomfortable. Nearly drowning when I was younger didn't help much either.

"Hmmm, well perhaps it's time you overcame that," she pushed away and into the open water. "I'll get you in one way or another," she finished with a deep inhale of oxygen and plunged beneath the water. I couldn't help but roll my eyes.

"Real mature Nightmare!" I shouted so she could hear me. sat there in silence for a moment or two, my voice still ringing in my ears as the waters became eerily still.

"Nightmare Moon?" I felt involuntary worry come over me, it tugged at my body and I quickly crawled to the pool's edge.

"Nightmare-,"

I was quickly cut off when she burst from the water with a triumphant "HA!" and wrapped her wet forelegs around me. I yelped briefly and was pulled into the water with her with a great splash. I thrashed about wildly beneath the surface for a few moments, my head lifting upwards as I fought towards the surface faster than I thought possible.

I gasped and spluttered for a few seconds, my eyes probably as wide as dinner plates.

"Don't ever do that again!" I panted, "I could have drowned!"

"Oh don't be so overdramatic, you're doing just fine my dear," she spoke approvingly. I hadn't noticed it but I was easily keeping myself afloat.

"Besides," she swam over to me and pulled me into her loving grasp, "do you honestly think I'd ever let you drown?"

"No."

"Exactly," she tapped my nose gently with a hoof. We kept ourselves afloat, absently moving throughout the water, lost in each other's gaze.

"You know," I said, taking a few stray wet locks into my hand, "you're mane looks really good when its wet."

She raised a brow, trailing a little circle along my chest, giving a disapproving look at the shirt that was plastered to it.

"And I think...you'd look even better without your shirt."

I felt my cheeks grow hot and I couldn't help but look around.

"Here?"

"Not like it isn't anything I've seen before," she giggled as she swam away, encouraging me to chase. My bravery rose up in me and with an almost ceremonial splat the shirt had been discarded to the pool's edge.

Far faster than I would've thought Nightmare Moon swam over to me, her back legs ensnaring my waist and me forelegs around my shoulders and our lips locked in a heated kiss.

She and I were going to have swim more often.

A Portrait

Her eyes are like the most radiant sapphires in all creation. Glinting and glowing with magnificent beauty. Framed by long, lush, black eyelashes. Her gaze piercing me to my very heart and soul each time. A wonderful sensation.

Her mane is purple, with streaks of white. Softer than any silk, each individual strand subtly sparkling as though there are hundreds of tiny stars contained within. Oh, how it flows in a gentle breeze. Her fur is black as the night and soft to the touch, her body warm and reassuring.

Her legs are long and regal, hooves deceptively delicate. Each step graceful, with a sense of control and power. Occasionally tiny bits of shadows and darkness dance about them. A long, majestic horn on her head. Heralding her magical might, glowing a vibrant blue.

Her armor gold and shining. Embedded with only the finest and most dazzling gems.

Her voice low and feminine, sensual music to my ears. Uniquely accented words flow from her lovely lips that I adore to kiss. Our warm embrace filling us both with unequaled joy forevermore.

Kaltes, how often do you read? These words that you express to you Beloved Nightmare is well placed and I cannot help wonder if it's the literature you reed, the music you listen, or is it really you heart speaking out loud. It's truly amazing Kaltes, and it's really great you two are still together. ^ ^

Fireflies

She burst from the still waters of the lake, horn first. Droplets of water soaring through the air, glinting in the dying sunlight of the evening. The water dripped and ran steadily off Nightmare Moon's equine figure, her mane and tail wet and revealing itself for the locks of long blue hair it actually was. Still gleaming with tiny star like sparkles, and her wings ruffled out to assist in drying them a bit faster. Her teal eyes fixed on me where I sat on the blanket she had brought over with us, a small smile now adorning her lips as she made her way over. I too was wet from the unexpected swim, she'd convinced me to come over here with her and had said we needed to swim across the lake (which thankfully wasn't too big) for a "surprise." So far only this blanket had been awaiting me.

"Oh," Nightmare Moon spoke in a mock gasp of disappointment, "you put your shirt back on."

I rolled my eyes as she sat down beside me, "You're the one woman on this planet who'd think me with my shirt off is a good sight."

She fixed me with a playful glare, "Do you doubt the word of your Queen?"

"No," I relented quickly, confidence in my own appearance one of the few things I'd never improved upon.

"'No' what?"

"No, my Queen," I stifled a laugh as she grinned devilishly in satisfaction.

"Very good," she lightly tapped my nose with a pretty, black hoof. It always amazed me how delicate yet powerful she appeared without her armor. I sighed and sat up beside her, following her gaze and looking out over the lake itself, the clear blue surface now undisturbed once more, grass equally still upon land. Trees surrounding us and the sky now embraced by gentle darkness.

"Nightmare," I looked over at her, briefly noting how her long mane clung to her back, "why are we out here?" At first, judging from the blanket I'd guessed it'd be some sort of picnic, but apparently I had guessed wrong.

"Well, given how downtrodden you've been over these past few days, I'd thought I would take you out for a little surprise."

"What kinda surprise?"

She smirked, "Just wait and see." Her teasing tone causing a sense of anticipation and curiosity to rise up in me. I looked all around for...anything, really. Anything that stuck out, well, besides the scenic nature that surrounded us.

"My dear, I believe you're looking in the wrong places," she placed a hoof under my chin and gently turned my head to look over the lake surface. It was gone as soon as it came, but there was just a tiny green flash. I blinked once to make sure my eyes hadn't deceived me. It appeared again! Followed by several more, some lights flashing simultaneously, others sporadically. The lights reflecting off the water's surface as I realized what they were.

"Fireflies! I don't think I've seen them in years." But I'd certainly never seen them in this setting before either. Not a building in sight, free of any restrictions.

Now dozens of them loftily hovered over the lake, their tiny lights flashing everywhere, lighting up the lake's surface. I just couldn't help but smile as the tiny insects went about their light show without a care in the world.

I turned to Nightmare just in time to see a single firefly pass between us as she turned to glance at me with a peaceful smile on her beautiful face, briefly illuminated by the small light of the firefly, setting off her stunning features even further. Her eyes glowed and black fur shimmered as the tiny bug silently passed between us to join the numerous others. No words were exchanged between us as I embraced her, her forelegs lovingly enclosing around my waist, smiling at her familiar warmth as my fingers stroked the wet locks of hair that had clung to her back; our bodies still fairly wet from our swim. My lips close to her ear.

"Thank you."

I felt her shift somewhat so she could properly respond in the same manner in which I had used.

"You're welcome, my love."

We remained in each other's grasp, but turned to look at the many flashing lights before us, silently enjoying the spectacle of fireflies.

Author's Note:
I wrote this as a pleasant way to finish off the month, somewhat to acknowledge the good and the bad I dealt with. My love stands strong.

Also, many thanks to Sour Soul and XXX_LYRA_LOVER_XXX for their kind words of my previous work(s).

I feel like this one took you a long time to write this one Kaltes, how highly detailed to what we seen, and how stories are becoming better and better. It's hard to favorite, and make me want to ask if you can do a commission, but another feeling tug me to think you can and only do this beautiful work with your Nightmare only.

Please keep it up dude, and Nightmare, keep up embracing your feelings toward your Kaltes. He sure needs it like milk and honey. ^ ^

Waking Moment

My eyelids fluttered open to see only the plain and unremarkable ceiling that hung far above my head. My head against a pillow and body resting comfortably and warmly on the familiar couch. A sigh escaping me when I tried to shift, but found I could not. Craning my head down to see, much to my surprise, Nightmare Moon sleeping partially on top of me. I hadn't even registered that I'd fallen asleep, let alone that she had apparently joined me.

Not that I objected.

She was unarmored, her body looking much more delicate without it, the blue mane adorning her head at rest, revealing it for the lush locks of hair it actually was. Several sparkling strands hanging over her beautiful face, her cheek resting lightly on my chest. I brought a hand to gently stroke her cheek, her black fur soft and warm to the touch, my fingertips lifting a few strands of her mane up, savoring the feeling for just a moment of two before allowing them to elegantly drop back down. Her ribs rising and falling with each relaxed breath.

It was a rare thing to see her like that, I was most likely the only one who ever had, but each time it was a moment I cherished.

Her teal eyes cracked open, looking directly at me in an instant, a small smile on her face now.

"Hello there."

"Hi," I replied in a quiet voice so as to not totally disrupt the peaceful atmosphere, "awake at last I see?"

"You're one to talk," she teased back, shifting somewhat to face me properly. Her forehooves resting neatly on my chest and her long backlegs tucked against her.

"How long have we been asleep?" I asked, although not particularly concerned with how long I actually had been.

"I'm not sure, but you looked so peaceful and I did not want to disturb you," she replied, brushing a few stray strands of hair out of her eye.

"Or perhaps you were just simply looking for an excuse to cuddle with me, hmm?" I asked amusedly, a hand running across her back slowly. Nightmare Moon raised a brow and her wings ruffled out a few seconds before returning to normal.

"Well someone thinks highly of himself," a mischievous glint in her eye as she replied, "but I just couldn't resist, could I?"

"Don't worry."

"About what?"

"I promise I won't tell anybody you're a cuddlebug."

Again she raised a brow, a hoof thoughtfully tapped my chest once as she deliberated a response in her quick mind. "You're lucky I like you," she chuckled, her head lowering to my shoulder in a resting position.

"Can we just stay here for a bit longer?" I asked.

"Mm, you read my mind."

I wasn't sure how long we laid there, enjoying the other's company, occasionally whispering words to one another; but it wasn't long until she was asleep once more. Her content, lovely face being the last thing my eyes saw until I too joined her in blissful sleep.
