People who hear 8-bit music and says it sounds like Mario even if it's going for a completely different genre than Mario would ever do. Mario music sounds like Mega Man music in the same way that Led Zepplin is a raggae group. Just no.

the least people can do is ask what the tune is if they don't know. not all chip tunes are mario.
