What really grinds your gears?

As an author this both disgusts me and is my greatest fear. I hesitate to be paid for anything I would do simply because if I missed a deadline I'd lose my mind more than Twilight missing that friendship report. That's probably because I see that stuff as like a contract and if you can't manage to at least keep the paying party up to date on what you're doing you're bad at what you've been paid to do.

Sorry to hear this and sorry to kind of hijack your comment.

Nono you're fine!

The thing is, I'm not some jerk who gets annoyed when I don't hear back in an hour or something. I'd like to think I'm a really reasonable person and I always try to extend some courtesy and understand. But when they do stuff like saying "It'll be ready in a week" for a couple months, or this other guy who keeps saying he'll get pictures "tomorrow" a month ago, I start to lose a bit of patience because I feel like I'm just being taken advantage of at that point.

This is happening again? You poor thing, can you contact DA/Etsy/Paypal/whatever and light a fire under their buns? This makes them look bad for tolerating it. Any names we should be wary of commissioning ourselves?

Shindeeru is the one who was giving me some issues recently. And Dawning Love has just been taking a long time but I think she has a lot of personal problems that's causing the delays.

tried refusing to pay and simply messaging them to say you want to cancel the order when they wont get around to doing it? enough people cancel, they will do their job iinstead of blowing off their customer base in my experience

Nah, was using sprayfoam to fill the space in between a shower floor and the actual floor of the house from underneath the house. Was using WD-40 to clean the foam off self best could. Still have terrible filthy crusty yellow hands from foam drying. Can't peel it off yet because it takes the skin with it

I really really really don't like having dirty hands. Anywhere else wouldn't be such big deal. But my hands tho
