S5E19 The One Where Pinkie Knows

Never saw this one. I enjoyed this one. I don't think it was anything breaking or new, but it was fun to watch Pinkie. Initially I thought this was clashing with how she is in Green Isn't Your Color. But then I realized it's because of her mentality in that, that she's torturing herself so much to keep it. All in all though, it was an enjoyable, fun episode.

S5E20 Hearthbreakers

I think this was a much better episode than the original Christmas/Hearthswarming episode. I felt like it had good content all around. Call back to a previous really good episode, Mane 6 bonding, pony family bonding, introduction of never seen characters in a good light, I liked it all around and found it very sweet. The lesson was very good too as I feel like it portrays family traditions and when used with others. All in all this one was definitely very good. There's also a lot more to work with, with Pinkie/Applejack as opposed to Rarijack, but I wouldn't want to see the writers drive that into the ground either.

On a side note, I'd love to see a Hearthswarming episode with Rari and what she does with gifts. Or anything like that in particular, that'd be really sweet.

Another ep I quite enjoyed. I liked seeing more of Rock Horse's family. Marble is very cute.

I thought this one, while it didn't necessarily stand out to me in any meaningful way (except for that super cute mermaid outfit), I thought this one was a pleasant, fun, watch. If it means anything, though, I think I might have to say I lean more towards Fluttershy on this one, I'm all for hanging out with friends, but I definitely don't think I'd be into scaring them, especially as bad as Fluttershy got them. I wouldn't want to see my friends like that either, so I definitely see where she's coming from. It was a fun episode.

S5E22 What About Discord

Never saw this one. Honestly from what I heard of it, I was bracing myself for the worst, and honestly what I felt was it wasn't good at all, but it wasn't necessarily the worst one ever, at least it wasn't as bad as Three's a Crowd. I feel like I'd probably be more hurt by this if I was a Twilover instead, because Discord is unnecessarily awful to her, and his shtick really should have been done with a while ago. Really though, the less I see of him the better.

As a Twilover, I just feel like it's par for Discord's course, and a pretty good example of why he shouldn't have been brought back. It changes him from a sinister, legitimately terrifying villain into a floundering laughing stock. I just treat it as fanfiction that somehow got animated, and try to enjoy the scene where Twilers tries to make everypony drink the potion, because that was adorable.

S5E23 The Hooffields and McColts

That episode was lousy. If anything shows the map episodes are poor design, it's this one. It was predictable and just felt like a cookie cutter plot that's been done a thousand times. Hell my initial thought was that it looked very similar to that old Veggie Tales episode where they were throwing things at each other from the hills. It was just a step beneath bland, it was something overdone and lacked anything really of note for it. It didn't even feel like a friendship problem or anything, it felt like 19 minutes of watching a bunch of hicks throw things at each other while Twilight fails to get them to work together until Fluttershy talks about what happened. How did both of them together make a contribution? All in all, definitely not worth seeing this one again.

I completely agree.

And that reaction image.

S5E24 The Mane Attraction

I felt this one was really rather enjoyable. I unfortunately tend to often feel like Applejack episodes have some problems for her, as they're often too much just family stuff or she's too stubborn. Or it's Rarijack. She definitely needs more room for things, and I felt this one was good on her because it was very different from that It gave more to her, show her other traits to her. The fact that she had such a relationship I find incredibly interesting. The songs I thought were also very good in the episode, as well as Rara's voice actress (I never called Rari that anyway, no skin off my nose there). This probably is my best Applejack episode to date.

S5E25 Cutie Re-Mark Part 1

This one really kind of bothers me on a few levels. The biggest one being, well as I said several times in the past, I dislike the feeling that the Mane 5 are useless, and this one I feel is another case of that as they aren't able to contribute anything, it's really a Twilight episode first. Second, I feel like the first timeline presented is a bit over the top and really feels like something that came from a fanfiction, not pony. It's not secret it deeply bothers me seeing ponies forced to do things against their will, and on top of that such an intense war scene really doesn't fit pony. Is it really that intense? No not really, but for pony, I feel like it is. Seeing Rainbow Dash all scarred up, it just didn't sit right with me. I feel like this episode was done the wrong way, in addition to its second half. I think it would have been better to show instead one timeline and focus on that. In particular, focus on the Nightmare Moon one, as I feel it is the most fitting to the story, as it loops back to the first episode. If the Mane 6 didn't get their cutie marks at the same time, I think the worst thing that would have happened would have rather been the most important thing in the show, they don't receive their elements to stop Nightmare Moon. Focus on that timeline instead. Then show Twilight still reuniting everyone, showing their bond. This whole time jumping thing to show "Oh let's see if Sombra was doing things!" it seems too much like fan service. However, that being said, I don't feel like this one is as bad as an offender as Twilight's Kingdom, and is at least better than Canterlot Wedding in a few regards, at least with the first part. I just wish this was reorganized to help for a better story flow that focused on the Mane 6 and their bond. So I don't hate it, it just bothers me in some areas. But I'd definitely rather rewatch this sooner than most other premiers or finales.
