An episode a day
S7E7 Parental Guidance

As much as I think RD's parents were fun, I feel like Rainbow Dash was portrayed as downright mean. I think that could have been handled in a much better way that wasn't harmful to her.

I agree. Sure, they gave her ample cause to be embarrassed, but none at all to snap at them like that. That we saw, anyway. If she had such a problem, shouldn't she have said something to them before it came to a head like that?

Also, I say it every time this episode is mentioned, but Windy is so darn cute.

Exactly, it just seemed very disproportionate in terms of what the parents were doing, and RD's reaction. Like I think they needed to find a way to make the parents seem less nice, and more just in the way at times. Which they did, but it wasn't nearly enough to match the reaction.

S7E8 Hard to Say Anything

I felt this one was a good CMC one, and it gave Sugar Belle some nice development, as well as gave Big Mac a good amount of attention too. It's nice to see the town again, as I'd like to know more about what life is like there. But that song, if there's one thing I hate more than country music, it's pop music. That was horrible. Despairing Rarity

And with this I sadly reach an end of doing daily episodes in sequential order. I'll put up posts of what I feel for the new ones, but I enjoyed this a lot. I think I need to keep it up and make sure to watch at least 1 episode every day, because it has helped my mood tremendously. I think at this one I will just watch them randomly.

Thank you all for reading my thoughts in this. It was extremely fun to write them out for each old episode.

It was fun following your reviewing of the series, and gave me a new way of looking at certain episodes. Thank you, Rares.

It was nice to follow this while it lasted. i do find what other peoples thoughts are on episodes to be rather interesting. If I may just say I think you've come a long way since you started doing this and when you initally watched a number of episodes troubling you before that. I think continuing with watching an episode every day is a really good thing.

I look forward to seeing your thoughts on future episodes.

Thank you. That means a whole lot to me. Especially still having that weird feeling that I don't quite feel like I progressed a lot. So thank you. If anything, you were a major help on that.

Oh believe me I look forward to "officially" being able to give a fuckhuge rant about tomorrow's episode lol.

S7E9 Honest Apple.

Wow, was I waiting to write about this one. This one is horrible, I'd say one of the worst in the series. Not offensively bad, no, but I think this one is a prime example of a writer not only not caring about what they've written, but also it being painfully evident that the writer never even watched the show. Rarity having close connections with Photo Finish? Rarity having no idea what her Manehattan shop manager is up to? Apparently this is also the first episode this writer has written for the show, and is also the first animated thing they've done, and I think it shows. Like take that bit where that random Rarity guitar solo shows up. What was that? That was just such a case of "lol random" humor, like a bad Family Guy cutaway. In fact I had to do a double take to make sure it was legit, it just seemed so out there. The 3 contestants are all incredibly unlikable and one dimensional, and can be summed up in one word each. OHMAHGOSH, future, and goth. They lack any sort of traits. And honestly, they come off more as hacks if anything, not there because of the passion of their work, just there for the contest. Compare any of them to someone like Coco. And the ending, how they all win? That was such a bad cop out, and I feel like it's just so insulting that they leave their crap in Rarity's boutique but don't even take the work to show it off themselves. What they do, especially the way they rage quit the contest, it feels like they act in the exact opposite of how Rarity has her "Rules of Rarity". And Applejack. If anyone was hurt by this episode, it's her. I've usually made it really clear I hate Rarijack stuff because of how painfully over done it is. I've also made the case that it's really the crutch of a poor writer, relying too heavily on "Lol look how opposite they are!" And again, as it's basically 22 minutes of Applejack not understanding fashion, it again really shows.

The scene with Strawberry Sunrise was great though. The one funny thing in the episode is that Rarity just happens to have a friend on standby to rant against Applejack. The only redeeming bit in the episode. Aside from that, definitely one of the worst.

Heh, I can really tell. Yeah I would have to agree in that this was uhm.. something. I'm glad to see that in all this it doesn't seem to have taken the same toll on you as previous bad episodes have and that you can take a stance akin to pointing and laughing at it. Kinda goes to prove what i said above..
