S1E5: Griffin the Brush Off
This one is a cute one, just a bit silly, not a whole lot else to say. Something I'm noticing about these older episodes, they feel... flatter. It's hard to describe but it's almost like the backgrounds seem, well, just like backgrounds. I noticed quite a bit more of model clipping too with things, like Fluttershy's mane dodn't sit straight. Oh, and this also marks the episode where Rarity received a horn update, changing it from the closed off style to the open one.

"Hair magic is too complex" they say. Oh what lies. Also Trixie is still quite a bit if a bitch, not a whole lot else to add. The simple nature of the show at this point is still evident, I forgot how many repeating characters there used to be in the background.
I wonder if I should really keep up writing these

I'm finding them interesting, even if i'm not saying much. I haven't seen anything beyond season 3 so hearing about the obvious limitations and such compared to recent seasons that I have no experience with is interesting to say the least. Compounding your thoughts on the technical side, I preferred the earlier seasons for their simple stories and felt the show became too much at the end of Season 2 with the introduction of changelings and a whole invasion on the pony capital. Not bad in any way mind you, but more than I really wanted from "adorable ponies." So hearing critiques on the episodes I like adds to the interest.

You're watching it for yourself, not for knowledge of everyone online. This is only your decision to share or not.

This is fairly close to my own opinion on it. It's so far now from what I like I can barely even watch the new episodes. Thank Celestia this isn't the 90s, and we aren't beholden to reruns as our sole source of pony.

Well I was just thinking if I should keep up with the rewrites because I already wrote most of the stuff for them already, last year, I don't mean to repeat myself too much, and I'm not finding a whole lot else new to say for myself.
S1E7: Dragonshy
I realize after rewatching this that there really aren't that many more M6 adventure episodes with a focus on a single character. Now it's just that single character doing their own thing. In hindsight, I kind of don't like that, I think the setup needs to be more like this. It's okay to have new characters built for the single episode, but I feel like the stuff of this nature has been quite lacking for quite some time. Despite being a Fluttershy centered episode it still has a build around the M6 and their dynamic. I think that can be used more.

S1E8: Look Before You Sleep
AKA the prelude to countless "Do you get they're opposites yet?" Well I still like this one, especially since it was before the dynamic was run into the ground. Also from the jist of it, if I were in Rarity's position, I would probably react the same way, I felt like AJ was definitely not as considerate as she could have been. But all in all, really cute episode. I noticed less animation errors this time around actually, less clipping and such.

S1E9: Bridle Gossip
Don't be racist, the episode. Ponies seem to be a little judgmental sometimes, aren't they? Well they didn't know, so it's okay, they learnt their lesson. It's a nice one, and the animation is consistently improving still. I think this one is pretty much always a classic, though I did feel like some of Rarity's lines were maybe a bit too vain for her, and I noticed Twilight's voice was very... off in the begining. Other than that, good episode.

S1E10: Swarm of the Century
Geez Twilight has no faith in Celestia if she thinks she can't handle some buzzy bugs. Another fun one which, like I noticed, much more of a Mane 6 dynamic than what we get in later seasons. It felt like they each had a part to play in the episode, without much of a focus. Also bringing back Zecora so quickly was interesting for continuity.
