jesus christ 5 fucking years what where did it all go

So yea. 5 years since I became part of this community. Back when it all started on a forum thread on Redlight Ponyville. Back when Taxman and Jin (remember them ?) were around. I remember first joining the forum on an old account and lurked the thread. I was gonna write on there but my account got banned for being underage as I stupidly mentioned my age on another thread.

retarded of me I know ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I made the account "DJ Blitz" (which some of you would know) and posted on there about Rainbow Dash. From that point it was a quite the journey through all those months on that thread, talking to the other members and connecting with them.

I dont remember when we had moved to MLW, but I think it was around the first time RLPV went down from an attack, and we had moved there. A good 2-3 years was spent on MLW. seeing all sorts of members come and go (some are still active till this day!), making close friends (one that I met IRL) along the way. I really wanted to help out on the site, and applied to be a staff members about 3 times before Taxman finally approved of me (only took NintendoKnight to appraise me xd).

Then the "great meltdown" from Taxman happened in early 2015, and that led to the creation of this forum, Waifu Central. Creating this place was a troublesome start, finding a host, getting the theme, setting up all of the plugins and options, re-doing everything I had done because I was a fucking idiot and locked myself out of the admin panel etc.

Fast forward to today, with over 110 registered members, over 13,000 posts in over 600 threads, this community is hella active and has grown significantly over the years. I can't thank all of you guys enough for all of your support and activity over the years.

So why am I leaving ?

Well, for one I have not been active very much anymore- I rarely post on the forums nor talk on Discord. Personally, I feel a bit detached from the community ever since I stopped watching MLP in 2014. The reason why is that I just didn't really enjoy the show anymore- and due to that started drifting away from Rainbow Dash. Around that time I picked up Dota 2, and while I had my crushes on the Dota 2 heroes Skywrath Mage, Vengeful Spirit and Templar Assasin, I never really felt the same connection as I had with Dash. 2016 came around and I bought Overwatch after peer pressure- and fell for D.va. I still love her till this day.

Secondly, next week I will be starting military service- its compulsory conscription in my country. Due to that I likely won't be able to manage the site anymore. While I wasn't active for the last year or so, I was still helping in setting up the Discord server as well as making sure Hostgator didn't fuck us over. But come next week I likely won't be able to do either.

So with my departure, I have decided to hand over the keys (well he technically has them already) to the site to Warden.

I know the community has had beef with him over the incident, but he has been the other longest member I know on here and the one I trust the most. I hope you guys give him the chance to lead the community to the best of his ability from now on. I will still be handling the Discord server for a bit while longer, but I will be demoting myself to a regular member.

It's been an awesome 5 years, and I can't thank you guys enough for all of the memories, friendships and bonds we have had since a small forum thread. If you guys ever want to contact me about anything, message me on Discord (Blizzyyy#6835) ^_^

Bye for now o/

Reading this post was a nice walk down memory lane. I joined RLPV a month or so after you did, and I also almost got banned for being underage on there (At the time, I'm not anymore). But derpyhooves (RLPV's founder) cut me a break and said he wouldn't ban me if i didn't bring up my age anywhere. I also remember a time when Jin was friendly to me, before he threatened to kill me and all that lol.

I would like to say a huge thank you blitz. While you have always been rather quiet on the forums and discord, you still have done a lot for this community over the years, and I want to reiterate that to everyone. I want everyone to know that you have been a great help to this community, and have always been there for us. You are the only person (I think) who is still around from when I started here, and I am sad to see you go. I wish you great luck in the military. I've been doing it for almost 3 years, I know what its gonna be like, and I wish you well.

I also want to thank you for your trust in me, something that sadly I know some people don't have right now. As mentioned in my journal, I would have liked more time to regain trust from some members before becoming an admin again, let alone owner. I didn't even know about any of those promotions until just a few days ago, and I am still honored about being chosen for both. I don't want to take up too much space for this part, since this thread is about Blitz. But anyone who is uncomfortable with me being owner is free to contact me and talk to me (about anything really) if they wish, I will do what I can to help. I don't want people uncomfortable here.

I know you wont be gone forever, and that we will hopefully see you again here some day soon, but I felt like I had to end this with a super corny quote:

“Don’t be dismayed at goodbyes. A farewell is necessary before you can meet again. And meeting again, after moments or lifetimes, is certain for those who are friends.”

I just want to say that I wish you my best of luck going into the future, and my best of luck to warden as he takes ownership.

Take care, D.Va. I don't know what the military is like there, but even when it sucks, just keep on keeping on and you'll get through it! Thanks for keeping the site going, and helping to make the community better. We'll be seeing you around, won't we?

Warden: Congratulations. Twi and Sassy would be proud of you!

Thank you for what you've done for this community, to help get it to where it is today. I know many users, including myself, greatly appreciate what you've done. Thank you for that and thank you for being around.

Congratulations Warden!
