On another note, now that my exams are over, I can continue watching a ton of shows I've had on hold for the past couple of months.

Back when I was actively collecting, I purchased a number of CLAMP manga volumes; three xxxHOLiC tankōbon and a Cardcaptor Sakura omnibus, to be specific.

If you've watched some of the show, how do the Cardcaptor Sakura omnibus volumes compare? I was thinking of possibly acquiring those at some point, but if the show covers them well enough, I might not.

Admittedly, I've seen very little of the show, but it depends on which version of the series you've seen. If you've seen it as it was originally intended, I doubt there's any difference significant enough to warrant purchasing the omnibuses. But if you saw the somewhat butchered dub version I probably could have caught on Cartoon Network back in the day, they did everything from exclude mention of Sakura's deceased mother to fudge with episode order to bring in a male character earlier (supposedly so that male viewers would be more likely to take an interest >_< ).

The art in the manga is beautiful, though; CLAMP impresses on that front. If you lived down the street, I'd just give you my damned copy of the first omnibus. x )

I'm watching the unaltered subtitled version at the moment. I'm not a huge fan of the extremely questionable choices they made in the English version.

You're too kind! I'll have a look through the omnibus at a store in the city that sells them. Then I'll be able to decide whether it's worth the purchase.
