Favorite Genre of Games

What genre do you prefer? FPS? Action? Asventure? RPG?

I like open world style games with adventure and action mixed in.

My favorite examples of this are Red Dead Redemption, which is by far my favorite game, Skyrim, second, Assassians Creed 4, third, and finally GTA V

RPG. I literally bought a game because the back of the case said, "Level up to 999!" Not kidding. That's a selling point for me.

I also love the character action sub-genre of games. Devil May Cry, Metal Gear Rising, Bayonetta, the new Transformers game by Platinum, etc.
Soul of the mind, key to life's ether. Soul of the lost, withdrawn from its vessel. Let strength be granted, so the world might be mended. So the world might be mended.

I'm generally an FPS nut. I play a lot of competitive-ish shooters but now I also have picked up a fair amount of MOBAs with Dota being the lead.

I also play a fair amount of action and racing games.

I suppose I play a little of all kinds of genres here and there, but my absolute favorite games are RPGs and Beat 'Em Ups (think Double Dragon, Final Fight, and Dynasty Warriors, not Street Fighter or Guilty Gear, fun as those games are...). I can find myself getting lost in a story and a world in games like that; I feel fully incorporated into a virtual existence, after a fashion. Yes, that goes for Beat 'Em Ups too; I find the simplified control schemes allow for some of the most elegant and beautiful instances of combat in gaming. Smile

I'm a freak of a gamer when it comes to RPG style open-world games, most notably ones like Fallout.

Favorite genre of game? Casino gaming. Like in an actual casino. Blackjack and craps are faves, specifically.

Next favorite? Board games.

I'm an oldfag, and can't into video games made after 1997 very much.
